6 month pics of MJ

Its getting harder and harder to get good pics of MJ since he is climbing around like a little monkey lately.
Here are a few:

SAD brought on by the snowstorm of 11'

I am pretty sure I am dealing with seasonal affect disorder after being cooped up in the house for 7, yes, count them, 7 DAYS!
The 6 foot snow drifts, slippery pavement, and unplowed alley made it near impossible to venture out of the house last week. It was GRAY all week!!!
I hate to complain bc I know I chose to move back to the midwest but damn!!!
I am pretty sure I had a slight case of the "baby blues" after MJ was born but this is worse bc I cant go outside for a long walk and feel refreshed! ahhhh!
ok, enough complaining.
I finally got out of the house this weekend with Matt and the baby and it was glorious!!!
Thank goodness MJ makes me laugh on a daily basis or I would really be going stir crazy.

6 mo checkup

MJ had his 6 mo chkup and shots last week.
He weighs a whopping 20lbs 9oz (90th percentile)
He is 27 inches long (75th percentile)
and his headsize is in the 91st percentile...poor babes has a big noggen. haha!
MJ's new favorite mode of transportation is scooting while in the sitting position on his butt. Its hilarious.
He also is a big crawler now....oh yeah but he can only go backwards. This is very frustrating to him so he usually gives up after realizing he is getting further away from where he wants to go.
I am really afraid of jinxing myself but MJ is a much better sleeper lately, he is sleeping through the night more often then not...but not EVERY night. boo

I finally let someone that wasnt family watch the baby...even if its just for 45min increments a few times a week. I finally joined a gym here in the QC. I love it bc of the daycare so I dont have to wait for Matt to get home to get my fitness on.

QC Bald Eagle Days....

This weekend we went to the QC Bald Eagle Days. The Niabi zoo had a show where they brought out all kinds of fun animals for the audience to see.
Thanks to knowing one of the zoo keepers, we were able to go backstage and meet the penguin. MJ was in awe and stared the whole time. It was sooo cute!

Better late than never???

MJ's first Christmas was amazing! Even if we did get snowed in on Xmas eve, we did make it to see (almost) everyone on Christmas Day.

I cant believe you have been with us for 6 months already. Turning our lives upside down and making us not just a "couple" anymore but a family. You are growing into such a fun lil boy. You laugh when we laugh (even if you're not sure why), you cry when there are too many new faces, and you love to quietly observe when there is a lot going on. Christmas through your eyes was like celebrating for the first time. Watching you open gifts and play with wrapping paper kept everyone mesmerized on Christmas morning.
Its been 6 months since I have put on work pants and been in a classroom. I never thought I would be a "stay at home" mom for any length of time but everything changed once I held you. My Florida mom friends all told me "you HAVE to stay home if you have the opportunity." Wow, they were right! I am lucky to have the option to stay home for a year with my boy to watch him grow and discover. I love you, nugget :)
